Eastern Red Cedar

Used in furniture (to moth-proof), pencils, fence-posts, and Christmas trees. Due to its natural resistance to drought and temperature extremes, Eastern Red Cedar is widely distributed through the Eastern half of the United States. Often the lumber of older trees has good figure, being composed mostly of the red heartwood, with thin bands of the lighter white sapwood. Great for outdoor furniture.
